The 12th CERSM exhibition : report by Mr. Claudio Villa

Cervia Garden City May 30th-31st 2009

The event "Cervia Garden City", arrived to 37th edition, has hosted the most skilful gardeners of Italy and of Europe for floral fittings which have involved  all the storic center area with gardens, flowerbeds, and sculptures in the green, contemporaneously with plants, flowers, bonsai markets and topical exhibitions.In this wonderful setting, awarded by the President of the Republic with a plate, has taken place the 12th edition of the CERSM magnificently organized by the Cervia Bonsai Association with the patronage of the Cervia Commune and of the UBI.

In the suggestive scenery of the ancient Salt Warehouse built in 1712 and recently restored, 12 Clubs from Emilia-Romagna have given life to an exhibition much appreciated by the public and enthusiasts.
Despite the bad weather, hundred people interested by 61  high level bonsai specimen have discovered the “novelty” of  a quality suiseki exhibition with 17 specimen selected.

In the Suiseki contest, which was judged by Mr. Marino Nikpal IBS Instructor, also present as UBI Representative, there were classified : 3rd place a multistand of Mrs. Maria Petillo of the Bizantina Bonsai of Ravenna, 2nd place  “Eagle” of Mr.Ulisse Maccaferri , 1st place  “Red sunset”, a landscape stone of Mr. Claudio Villa.

To the CERSM exhibition there were present stones of materials  and place of origin alternative to the “ Ligurian Palombino “ as a proof of a continuous search by the enthusiasts  with the purpose  to enrich their own collections with new materials.
